In the Tsukiji district, we will promote urban development that will lead to the sustainable growth of Tokyo. Based on the "Big Perspectives of Tsukiji Town Development" compiled by the Tsukiji Redevelopment Review Council, which is made up of outside experts, in May 2018, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced in March 2019 the future vision, direction, and way forward for Tsukiji town development. We are formulating the Tsukiji Town Development Policy.

New Transportation Network
According to the business plan proposed by the "City Center and Waterfront Area Subway Concept Business Plan Review Committee," which was planned as an important line to enhance the railway network in the bay area and make Tokyo a city filled with charm and vitality, it will connect "(tentative name) Tokyo Station" (Yaesu Exit) in the city center to "(tentative name) Ariake/Tokyo Big Sight Station" in the waterfront, and is aimed at opening in 2040. In the future, it is planned to extend the Tsukuba Express to Tokyo Station and consider connecting it to this "City Center and Waterfront Area Subway Concept." Furthermore, the business plan also includes "considering a connection to Haneda Airport," which is expected to improve the transportation infrastructure.

Ginza used to have a flow of people centered around 4-chome, which had long been a familiar symbol of the city. However, the redevelopment in 2017 will mark a major turning point. With the opening of GINZA SIX, that includes high-end brands befitting Ginza, offices, and a Noh theater, the western area of 6, 7, and 8-chome will once again attract attention, creating a different dynamism than before.
